Things You Should Know about Tenerife Airport Guide

The beautiful Tenerife is the perfect destination for those looking for a relaxing holiday, filled with sun, clear water and sandy beaches. If you are travelling by plane there are several Tenerife airport transfers that you can choose from to get to your destination.

Although Tenerife has two airports, the international airlines use the Tenerife South Airport (TFS).

If you want to get to the resort as fast as possible and the cost is not an issue for you, the taxi would be your best option. Rates vary according to the time of the day, of the week and the year. It will be €0.47 per kilometer from 6am to 10 pm on weekdays and €0.58 from 10 pm to 6 am and on holidays. There is an airport fee of € 1.65. The price from the airport to the closest resort (El Medano) is about €16.

The public bus service is a cheap choice and a good option f you a travelling on a strict budget. Buying the bono-bus for € 12 you will save up to 50% of the trip cost than if you purchase the ticket from the bus. Using the Bono you also have discounts at some museums and free or very cheap connections if you use another bus within two hours of the first.

Line 343 connects the north airport with the southern one with no intermediate stops. The ride takes 50 minutes, and the price is € 9.35. Line 111 connects Tenerife South Airport with the capital Santa Cruz and the main beaches of the island. The price is € 9 to Santa Cruz.

Car rental

By renting a car you can save time and plan your holiday without having to rely on public transportation. You have your car to travel to various resorts and outside Tenerife. There are several car rental companies at the airport, ready to offer you different packages according to your needs. You do not waste time on waiting in stations, buying tickets and changing buses. It’s not as cheap as a bus ticket but you have more comfort, space and freedom.

If you want to cut on costs a little, you can book and pay for the car rental online. You will benefit from some discounts and be able to choose whatever car you want even in the busy times of the year.
